COPS TURN TO FACEBOOK TO SOLVE THE TRAFFIC OWES

ALLAHABAD: City traffic police has opted for an interesting and effective way of the social networking site to solve traffic problems of the city with the help of commuters sharing ideas and suggestions regarding improvement in the traffic scenario of the city.

The
Facebookpage of traffic police has turned into a platform of exchanging views, ideas and suggestions between traffic cops and commuters in terms of improving traffic scenario of the city. Cops too are making efforts to make it easily accessible for the commuters. Traffic inspector, Indra Pal Singh points out, "People have been putting up suggestions and discussing problems regarding traffic and we have been trying to solve their queries."

People have also offered their suggestions to improve traffic scenario at particular spots\areas and even crossings, further discussing it time to time.

Once the page was launched, people posted their comments, problems and suggestions regarding traffic system and following this, traffic cops are making efforts to take immediate note of cognizance to the problem. Acknowledging that traffic chaos during peak hours is the biggest problem in the city, cops have sought public support to streamline traffic in these hours.

"If commuters give us suggestions regarding improvement of the system in a particular location, we will be able to put an effort to take corrective measures in the same regard," said an official.

On the Facebook page, people have also been posting certain location where they frequently face problems of jam, non-functioning of signals and also the absence of traffic cops from their post.

The motive of the Facebook page was to make the traffic police easily accessible to the people.
